Concise Teaching on Liṅga Worship / Śiva-arcana-vidhi
Suta Goswami (narrating the Rudrasaṃhitā account to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It points to Shiva as both transcendent and immanent: niṣkala (beyond limiting parts/attributes) yet sarvalokamaya (pervading all realms). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, the Supreme Pati is the imperishable Cause who grants liberation by revealing His stainless, all-pervading nature.
The verse describes the niṣkala (formless) reality that the Shiva Linga signifies. Linga worship supports the mind in approaching the partless Supreme through a sacred symbol, moving from saguna contemplation (with form) toward realization of the nirguna/niṣkala essence.
Meditate on Shiva as crystal-pure (sphaṭikasaṃkāśa) and imperishable while repeating the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—letting the mind rest in the sense of the all-pervading Cause beyond divisions.
