Instruction on Rudra–Viṣṇu Unity and Divine Injunctions
Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic framing narrator, concluding the chapter colophon)
This is a chapter-colophon marking the completion of a teaching on Parama Śiva-tattva, emphasizing that the creation narrative is ultimately grounded in the Supreme Shiva as the highest reality (Pati) who is the source and end of all.
By naming the chapter as an exposition of Śiva-tattva, it frames later Saguna forms (including Liṅga worship) as accessible manifestations and supports for approaching the same Supreme Parama Śiva described philosophically.
A practical takeaway is tattva-cintana (contemplation of Shiva’s supreme reality) alongside japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” using devotion as the means to internalize the chapter’s teaching.
