Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages at Naimisharanya)

The verse highlights Saguna Shiva—Mahadeva’s accessible, grace-filled form—whose darshan naturally awakens bhakti and turns worldly attraction into a longing for union with the Lord, guiding the soul (paśu) toward Pati (Shiva).
It supports Saguna contemplation: devotees may meditate on Shiva’s auspicious qualities and beauty, while also recognizing that such form points to the Linga as the all-pervading sign of Shiva beyond form (Nirguna), approached through devotion.
Practice dhyāna (meditation) on Shiva’s auspicious form while repeating the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and, if following Shaiva observance, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and wear Rudrāksha as supports for steady remembrance.
