It expresses śaraṇāgati (total surrender): Shiva is Parabrahman and the universal Father (Pati), while the devotee accepts the stance of dāsa (servant) who is sustained by His grace—central to Shaiva Siddhanta devotion.
Though Shiva is praised as Parabrahman (transcendent), the relationship is devotional and personal—supporting Saguna worship through the Linga as the accessible form of the same Supreme, who protects and nourishes the devotee.
Practice humble japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a dāsa-bhāva (servant attitude), offering daily worship (arcana) to the Shiva Linga while contemplating Shiva as the inner sustainer and father of all beings.
