It shows that even exalted beings can be shaken by viraha (pain of separation). In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, this highlights the human condition of pasha (bondage) through attachment and the need to return to steady remembrance of Pati (Śiva) beyond grief.
The inability to praise indicates a mind overwhelmed by emotion; Saguna worship through the Śiva-liṅga provides a stable support for devotion when thoughts scatter. The liṅga becomes the anchoring form through which grief is offered and transformed into bhakti.
Offer the mind’s sorrow into japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and perform simple liṅga-abhiṣeka with water while wearing rudrākṣa or applying tripuṇḍra, using the practice to steady longing into prayer.
