Satī Inquires about the Departure for Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
सत्युवाच । यज्ञस्स्यात्सफलो येन स त्वं शंभोखिलेश्वर । अनाहूतोसि तेनाद्य पित्रा मे दुष्टकारिणा
satyuvāca | yajñassyātsaphalo yena sa tvaṃ śaṃbhokhileśvara | anāhūtosi tenādya pitrā me duṣṭakāriṇā
Satī dit : «Ô Śambhu, Seigneur de tout ! C’est par Toi que le sacrifice devient réellement fécond. Et pourtant, aujourd’hui, mon père, auteur d’actes mauvais, ne T’a pas invité.»

Sthala Purana: The verse alludes to the doctrine that yajña attains fruition only through Śiva’s lordship; in the Dakṣa-yajña cycle, exclusion of Śiva renders the sacrifice spiritually defective and precipitates its ruin.

It implies prioritizing Śiva-bhakti alongside rites—remembering Śiva with the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) so that external ritual is joined to inner devotion.
