The Manifestation/Arising of Kāma
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: appearance of a mānasa-born maiden concurrent with creation of mānasaputras
It presents creation as arising from subtle consciousness (mind) before gross embodiment, setting the stage for the Satī narrative where divine purpose unfolds under Śiva’s supreme lordship (Pati) over all manifested orders.
Though the verse is about Brahmā’s creation, it functions as narrative groundwork for Satī—whose life culminates in reaffirming devotion to Śiva, the Saguna Lord worshipped as the Liṅga, beyond the limited authority of created beings.
The takeaway is contemplation on the source of creation—meditate on Śiva as the inner witness beyond mind, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” even while engaging in worldly duties.
