Satī at her father’s house: blessings and the onset of youth
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the hymn of praise to Lord Śiva within the Satīkhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse teaches that Śiva (Pati) is beyond sensory grasp and ordinary means, yet out of compassion He actively liberates devotees—highlighting Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis on anugraha (divine grace) as essential for moksha.
Though Śiva’s true splendour is ‘hidden’ (transcendent), devotees approach Him through Saguna forms such as the Liṅga; that accessible form becomes the grace-filled ‘path’ by which the otherwise unattainable Lord is realized.
A bhakti-led practice: daily Liṅga worship with the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), coupled with humility (namas) and reliance on Śiva’s grace; traditional supports include vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as aids to devotion.
