अतींद्रियमनाधारं सर्वाधारमहेतुकम् । अनंतमाद्यं सूक्ष्मं त्वां प्रणमामोऽखिलेश्वरम्

It declares Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord—transcending sensory grasp (atīndriya) and yet sustaining all (sarvādhāra). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, it points to Shiva as the ultimate reality who grants liberation when approached with surrender and devotion.
Although Shiva is described as subtle and beyond the senses, the Purana upholds worship through accessible sacred forms—especially the Shiva Linga—so the devotee can direct bhakti toward the transcendent Lord who otherwise cannot be grasped by ordinary perception.
Use this verse as a pranāma-mantra before Linga worship or japa: mentally contemplate Shiva as the support of all, then bow with humility; this aligns well with Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady inward meditation on the subtle (sūkṣma) Lord.
