Brahmā dit : Ainsi louée par le sage Dakṣa, la Mère de l’univers—Śivā (Satī)—s’adressa alors à Dakṣa ; mais lui n’écouta pas vraiment, comme si l’on dédaignait la parole d’une mère.

It highlights that mere praise is incomplete without receptivity and humility; when ego (ahaṅkāra) blocks “listening,” even the Mother’s guidance cannot bear fruit—an implicit Shaiva lesson that grace (śakti/anugraha) is received through surrender.
Satī is addressed as Śivā—the inseparable Śiva-Śakti principle. In Saguna worship (including Liṅga-pūjā), devotion must be paired with obedience to dharma and inner transformation; otherwise ritual praise remains outward and fails to align the devotee with Śiva’s will.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (reverent listening) and japa with humility—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—along with a vow to reduce pride before worship (pūjā) so the mind becomes receptive to Śiva’s grace.
