Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
The verse teaches that steady contemplation (vicintana/dhyāna) of the Supreme Goddess, inseparable from Shiva, matures devotion into grace—bringing both righteous worldly fulfilment (bhukti) and final release from bondage (mukti), with liberation presented as readily attainable through her favor.
In the Shiva Purana’s saguna framework, Shiva and Shakti are worshipped as one reality expressed in two aspects; Linga worship is completed by honoring Devi as Shiva’s śakti. This verse supports integrated Shaiva worship where devotion to Devi deepens access to Shiva’s liberating power.
It specifically recommends mental worship—regular contemplation/meditation on Devi as “vidyā-avidyātmikā parā.” Practically, one may combine this with Shaiva daily practice such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and focused dhyāna on Shiva with his Shakti, seeking both dharma-guided prosperity and moksha.
