दक्षस्य प्रजावृद्ध्युपायः — Dakṣa’s Means for Increasing Progeny

Pour ceux qui ne sont pas délivrés des trois dettes, le bien-être dans les deux mondes est entravé—ruiné par cet être sans pitié et trompeur, cause de la destruction de leur véritable bien.

Sthala Purana: General dharma-śāstric warning embedded in the Satī-khaṇḍa narrative: neglect of ‘three debts’ (to devas, ṛṣis, pitṛs) obstructs śreyas in both worlds.
It warns that neglecting the classical “three debts” (to gods, sages, and ancestors) blocks śreyas—true spiritual welfare—both in this life and after death; Shaiva practice must be grounded in dharma to mature into Shiva’s grace and liberation.
Linga-worship is not presented as a shortcut that bypasses duty; rather, devotion to Saguna Shiva is meant to purify conduct so that one fulfills dharmic obligations and becomes fit for Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
Maintain Shiva-bhakti while discharging dharma: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), worship with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa, and performing appropriate yajña/adhyayana/śrāddha duties to resolve the “three debts.”
