Dakṣa’s Means for Increasing Progeny
Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic colophon within Sūta’s narration to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon (iti…): a textual closure marker naming the chapter ‘Nārada’s Curse’ within Dakṣa-sṛṣṭi; not a narrative event.
Mantra: iti śrīśiva mahāpurāṇe dvitīyāyāṃ rudrasaṃhitāyāṃ satīkhaṇḍe dakṣasṛṣṭau nāradaśāpo nāma trayodaśo'dhyāyaḥ
Shakti Form: Satī
This is a colophon verse marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it preserves the śāstric lineage and context—reminding the reader that the narrative (Dakṣa’s creation and Nārada’s curse) is to be received as part of Śiva-centered teaching that guides the soul (paśu) toward Śiva (Pati) through right understanding and devotion.
Though it does not directly describe Liṅga worship, it frames the Satī-khaṇḍa narrative, where devotion to Saguna Śiva (Śiva with attributes) and reverence for His divine order are emphasized; the surrounding episodes typically contrast ego-driven ritualism with sincere Śiva-bhakti, which supports Liṅga-centered worship.
As a chapter-ending marker, it suggests a traditional pause for remembrance—mentally offering the fruits of study to Śiva, and resuming japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) or silent contemplation of Śiva as Pati, before proceeding to the next adhyāya.
