Dakṣa’s Austerities and the Direct Manifestation of Jagadambā

The verse highlights the transforming power of direct divine darśana: seeing Satī as Jagadambā (the all-pervading Mother) makes Dakṣa feel “kṛtakṛtya,” suggesting that grace-filled vision can momentarily dissolve worldly striving and confer a sense of completion.
Though the verse centers on Satī, it supports Saguna worship in Shaiva tradition: the Divine becomes accessible through a perceivable form. In Shiva Purana theology, honoring Shakti as Jagadambā complements Linga worship, since Shiva (Pati) and Shakti are inseparable in bestowing grace.
The takeaway is darśana-centered bhakti: seek steady contemplation of Shiva-Shakti through pūjā and mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating reverence so that inner “direct seeing” (pratyakṣa-bhāva) arises.
