Revêtus de l’éclat de la prospérité des trois mondes, tous deux se regardèrent l’un l’autre. Alors, d’une manière particulière, Lakṣmī et d’autres dames célestes leur offrirent l’honneur rituel de l’ārati.

It presents śrī (auspicious splendour) as naturally gravitating toward the Divine and expressing devotion through reverent service—here shown as ceremonial nīrājana—affirming bhakti as a dignified mode of honoring the Lord.
Nīrājana (ārati) is a Saguna-upāsanā expression—worship offered to the manifest, approachable form of the Divine (including the Śiva-liṅga), where light symbolizes conscious reverence directed toward Shiva’s auspicious presence.
Perform nīrājana/ārati with a lamp as part of Śiva-pūjā, cultivating steady mutual “beholding” (nirīkṣaṇa) as devotional contemplation—keeping the mind fixed on Shiva’s auspicious form while offering light.
