It highlights proper devotional orientation: the Lord (Pati, Shiva) is honored as foremost, and collective movement toward dharmic union is done with auspicious joy—bhakti expressed through reverence and sacred celebration.
The verse reflects Saguna devotion—Shiva approached as the personal Lord who is ceremonially honored. In Shaiva Siddhanta, such outward honor supports inner surrender, ultimately leading the devotee toward the reality signified by the Linga.
It suggests bhakti-sādhana through auspicious procession and devotional music (kīrtana/vādyasevā). Practically, one may accompany worship with Panchakshara japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and sattvic celebration rather than mere spectacle.
