रूपसार्थाय जनककुलालंकरणाय च । समुद्दिश्य महेशानं कामस्यानुग्रहाय च
rūpasārthāya janakakulālaṃkaraṇāya ca | samuddiśya maheśānaṃ kāmasyānugrahāya ca
Visant l’obtention d’une beauté parfaite et désirant aussi devenir l’ornement de la lignée de son père, elle contempla Maheśāna (le Seigneur Śiva) ; et de même, afin d’accorder sa grâce à Kāma, le dieu du désir.

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga origin; it anticipates the Kāma episode: Pārvatī’s tapas aims at Śiva’s favor, which will indirectly ‘grace’ Kāma (whose function is later curtailed and restored).
Significance: Teaches that Śiva’s anugraha orders even desire (kāma) toward dharma—beauty and social auspiciousness become sanctified when oriented to Maheśāna.

“Samuddiśya Maheśānam” indicates purposeful contemplation of Śiva in a personal, worshipable form (Saguna). In practice, such contemplation is commonly supported through Liṅga-pūjā, where devotion and intention are offered to receive Śiva’s grace.
