Devas’ Hymn, Nandikeśvara’s Petition, and Śiva’s Rising from Samādhi
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It portrays Śiva as the compassionate Pati who, pleased by Viṣṇu’s words, discloses the soul’s sadgati—an auspicious, liberation-oriented destiny—through the authority of Yoga and divine grace.
Though the verse highlights Śiva’s yogic stature, it supports Saguna devotion by showing that the personal Lord (Śiva) actively guides devotees toward sadgati; Linga-worship is a principal Shaiva means to receive that guidance and grace.
The implied takeaway is yogic steadiness with devotion—regular japa of the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and meditation on Śiva as the giver of sadgati, supported by Shaiva disciplines like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa where appropriate.
