Dialogue of Kāma and Śakra
Indra
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
The verse affirms Shiva’s siddhānta that sincere performance of the instructed dharma/sādhana, supported by the Lord’s grace, destroys duḥkha and establishes enduring spiritual merit (pratāpa) in the world.
It reflects the fruit of Saguna Shiva worship—following Shiva’s guidance with devotion and discipline leads to the removal of suffering and the steady manifestation of auspiciousness, a hallmark of Linga-bhakti in the Purāṇic path.
The verse points to faithfully completing the prescribed practice (as previously instructed in the narrative)—commonly understood in Shaiva observance as Shiva-bhakti with mantra-japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī), pūjā, and disciplined vrata leading to the cessation of duḥkha.
