Description of the General Battle Between Devas and Daityas

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
It portrays intense duality and conflict at the worldly level, implicitly pointing to Shaiva Siddhanta’s view that all power and victory ultimately rest with Pati (Shiva), while embodied beings (paśu) remain bound by action and reaction until they turn toward Shiva’s grace.
The battlefield imagery highlights the limits of mere strength and skill; worship of the Liṅga (Saguna Shiva as the accessible form of the Supreme) redirects the seeker from external conquest to inner surrender, where Shiva’s anugraha (grace) becomes the true means of overcoming bondage.
As an inner antidote to agitation and rivalry, practice japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with calm breath awareness, and (where traditional) apply Tripuṇḍra bhasma as a reminder that all martial pride and bodily power end in ash, while Shiva alone is the refuge.
