Consecration/Installation
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
It teaches Śaiva bhakti: when one recognizes the eternal Śiva-tattva shining through a divine manifestation, reverence (praṇāma) and heartfelt praise (stotra) become direct means to grace and inner purification.
The verse emphasizes Saguna worship—Śiva known through a perceivable form—while affirming that the form is “sanātana,” i.e., rooted in the timeless Śiva reality. This complements Liṅga worship, where a visible emblem points to the same eternal Lord.
Offer praṇāma and recite Śiva-stotras with devotion, meditating that the deity before you embodies Śiva’s eternal presence; this attitude can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” for focused contemplation.
