Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
The verse highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge in Shiva) as the decisive turning point: when the soul turns to Pati (Shiva) with dependence, Shiva’s prasāda (grace) dissolves duḥkha and leads the devotee toward peace and liberation.
Approaching the Shiva-Linga as Saguna Shiva is a concrete act of refuge—offering prayer, water, and mantra with surrender. The teaching is that it is not mere ritual alone, but refuge and grace (prasanna) that make worship transformative.
Practice daily śaraṇāgati with japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” mentally placing all fear and sorrow at Shiva’s feet; Linga-abhiṣeka on Mondays or Mahāśivarātri can be done as an outer expression of this inner surrender.
