Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
Parvati
Tattva Level: pasha
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga account; Pārvatī’s curse defines Agni’s future condition (sarvabhakṣī, pīḍitātmā) as karmic consequence for mishandling Śiva’s retas.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse warns that ignorance of Śiva-tattva—Śiva as the supreme Pati and liberating reality—keeps one bound to lesser motivations, even when acting in “divine” service, and it stresses that true spiritual maturity is Śiva-centered knowledge and devotion.
It implies that external acts or allegiance to deva-commands are not enough; Linga/Saguna-Śiva worship becomes transformative when it is grounded in understanding Śiva-tattva—seeing Śiva as the ultimate refuge and source, not merely one power among many.
The practical takeaway is to shift intention toward Śiva: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Linga-dhyāna, supported by Śiva-pūjā (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa if appropriate), focusing on surrender to Śiva rather than goal-driven deva-requests.
