Episode on the Origin of Gaṇeśa (Śvetakalpa Account)
Ganesha
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse highlights bhakti expressed as willing seva: Gaṇeśa offers himself as an instrument of the Devī’s will, illustrating humility and readiness to serve dharma—an inner attitude central to Shaiva devotion.
Though the verse is a dialogue with Śivā (Pārvatī), it reflects Saguna worship in practice: honoring the divine will through obedience and service. In Shaiva Siddhānta, such surrendered action purifies the paśu (individual) and supports grace toward union with Pati (Śiva).
A practical takeaway is sankalpa-based seva: begin worship with a clear intention—“I will do as You command”—and offer actions to Śiva/Śivā as arpaṇa. This can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as an inner anchor.
