FAQs

It highlights grihastha-dharma performed with a pacified mind: when inner agitation (the ‘fire of the heart’) is stilled, worldly duties become sāttvika and supportive of devotion and liberation-oriented living.

Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is not only ritual but also inner purification; a calm heart and joyful steadiness are presented as the proper inner state for approaching Saguna Shiva through pūjā, vrata, and pilgrimage.

The takeaway is mind-pacification alongside duty—regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) and simple Shiva-pūjā with bhasma and Rudraksha can steady the mind so actions are done without inner heat or restlessness.
