Kumāra’s Departure to Mount Krāuñca
तल्लिंगं यः समीक्षेत स सर्वैः किल्बिषैरपि । मुच्यते नात्र सन्देहः सर्वान्कामानवाप्नुयात्
talliṃgaṃ yaḥ samīkṣeta sa sarvaiḥ kilbiṣairapi | mucyate nātra sandehaḥ sarvānkāmānavāpnuyāt
Quiconque contemple ce Śiva-liṅga est délivré même de tous les péchés—sans aucun doute—et obtient tous les buts désirés. Selon la Śaiva Siddhānta, un tel darśana purifie le paśu (l’âme liée) et le tourne vers Śiva, le Pati, qui accorde à la fois bhukti (accomplissement mondain) et la voie vers mukti (libération).

Sthala Purana: The Mallikārjuna Jyotirliṅga is praised as sin-destroying by mere darśana, emphasizing Śiva’s accessibility and salvific grace at Śrīśaila.
Significance: Darśana is said to remove pāpa/impurities and grant desired ends; in Siddhānta terms, it weakens pāśa (bondage) and turns the paśu toward Pati through anugraha.
Role: liberating
The verse teaches the purifying power of Śiva-liṅga darśana: sincere beholding of the Liṅga dissolves karmic impurity (kilbiṣa) and aligns the bound soul (paśu) toward Śiva (Pati), making the heart fit for grace and liberation.
It affirms Saguna worship through the Liṅga as a direct means of receiving Śiva’s grace. The Liṅga is the accessible form through which devotees perform darśana and devotion, leading to both worldly fulfilment and the higher aim of moksha.
Practice reverent Liṅga-darśana with bhakti—visit a Jyotirlinga or a consecrated Śiva shrine, offer water and bilva leaves, and inwardly remember Śiva with the pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while taking darśana.
