Agni kindled with radiant flames as the guardian of ṛta (right-ordered sacrifice) and giver of strengthening wealth
त्वमित्सप्रथा अस्यग्ने त्रातरृतः कविः त्वां विप्रासः समिधान दीदिव आ विवासन्ति वेधसः
त्वमित्सप्रथाः अस्यग्ने त्रातरृतः कविः । त्वां विप्रासः समिधान दीदिवः आ विवासन्ति वेधसः ॥
tvám ít sa-prathā́ḥ asyágne trātár ṛtáḥ kavíḥ | tvā́ṃ viprā́saḥ samidhānā́ dī́divaḥ ā́ vivāsanti vedhásaḥ ||
Toi, vraiment, ô Agni, tu es de vaste renommée en ce sacrifice ; tu es le protecteur du rite, le ṛṣi. Toi, le rayonnant, les prêtres, t’allumant de bois, te vénèrent et t’honorent — eux, les sages ordonnateurs du cérémonial.
