Indra
Ce bref hymne est une convocation rituelle à se lever, à contempler et à présenter à Indra sa part légitime dans le sacrifice accompli en temps voulu. Il souligne la préparation (śrāta) de l’offrande — surtout le pressurage de midi — et invite Indra à venir, à s’asseoir parmi ses compagnons et à boire avec joie le caillé/la libation pressée, confirmant ainsi que l’acte est conforme à Ṛta (l’ordre cosmique).

Mantra 1
उत्तिष्ठताव पश्यतेन्द्रस्य भागमृत्वियम् । यदि श्रातो जुहोतन यद्यश्रातो ममत्तन ॥
Levez-vous donc et contemplez la part d’Indra, la part due au rite de saison (ṛtviyá). Si vous êtes prêts, offrez; si vous ne l’êtes pas, alors allumez en vous la joie et l’élan de la préparation.
Mantra 2
श्रातं हविरो ष्विन्द्र प्र याहि जगाम सूरो अध्वनो विमध्यम् । परि त्वासते निधिभिः सखायः कुलपा न व्राजपतिं चरन्तम् ॥
L’offrande (havís) est prête — avance, ô Indra; Sūrya a parcouru le milieu de la voie. Autour de toi s’asseyent les amis avec leurs trésors, comme les clans autour du maître de l’enclos (vrajá), marchant avec lui.

श्रातं मन्य ऊधनि श्रातमग्नौ सुश्रातं मन्ये तदृतं नवीयः । माध्यंदिनस्य सवनस्य दध्नः पिबेन्द्र वज्रिन्पुरुकृज्जुषाणः ॥
Je le tiens pour prêt dans la mamelle, prêt dans Agni; parfaitement préparé, je tiens ce Ṛta plus neuf. Bois, ô Indra au vajra, le caillé (dádhi) du pressurage de midi (sávana), t’en réjouissant, toi qui accomplis maintes œuvres.
