Sukta 1.99
It asks Agni (Jātavedas) to accept the Soma offering, destroy hostile forces, and carry the worshipper safely beyond every difficult situation, like a boat crossing a river.
Jātavedas means “knower of all that is born.” The hymn highlights Agni’s all-knowing power that can identify and burn away harmful opposition and guide us rightly.
It is suited to a fire offering (homa/yajña), especially when seeking protection. Many also recite it before travel or important transitions, praying to cross obstacles safely.
