शरीरनाभिसत्त्वार्चिश्शरारंनेमिकार्मुकम् ।ज्याघोषतलनिर्घोषंतेजोबुधदिगुणप्रभम् ।।6.94.29।।दिव्यास्त्रगुणपर्यन्तंनिघ्नन्तंयुधिराक्षसान् ।ददृशूरामचक्रंतत्कालचक्रमिवप्रजाः ।।6.94.30।।
anīkaṃ daśa-sāhasraṃ rathānāṃ vāta-raṃhasām |
aṣṭādaśa-sahasrāṇi kuñjarāṇāṃ tarasvinām ||
caturdaśa-sahasrāṇi sārohāṇāṃ ca vājinām |
pūrṇe śata-sahasre dve rākṣasāṇāṃ padātinām ||
divasasyāṣṭa-bhāgena śarair agni-śikhopamaiḥ |
hatātyāny ekena rāmeṇa rakṣasāṃ kāma-rūpiṇām ||
En l’espace d’un huitième de jour, Rāma, à lui seul, abattit les Rākṣasas aux formes changeantes par des flèches pareilles à des langues de feu : dix mille chars rapides, dix-huit mille éléphants vigoureux, quatorze mille chevaux avec leurs cavaliers, et deux cent mille fantassins au complet.
People saw Rama in the form of wheel exterminating the Rakshasas on the battlefield, which had the body of Sri Rama as its navel, his strength as its glow, the arrows as spokes, his bow as belly, the twangling of the bowstring as its sound, his virtues and effulgence as the power of his mystic missiles in war. Rama was seen as a wheel of time spirit by the people.
