Kumbhakarna surrounded by Rakshasas going to his brother's abode happily looked like the Lord of death bent on destroying the creation. He took strides which shook the earth.
The epic frames adharmic power as terrifying and world-shaking; Dharma is implied as that which protects the world from such destructive force.
Kumbhakarṇa advances toward Rāvaṇa’s abode with an army; his massive steps shake the earth.
Overwhelming might and fear-inducing presence; it functions as a narrative foil to Rama’s righteous, measured strength.
