On hearing the words of Yupaksha, regarding the insult of his brother Kumbhakarna said this rolling his eyes.
A dharmic response to counsel requires composure; anger that distorts judgment is shown as a prelude to destructive decisions.
After warnings about Rāma, Kumbhakarṇa reacts strongly, preparing to answer and to act in the war.
By contrast, the verse highlights the danger of wrath (krodha) overpowering discernment (viveka).
