The Awakening of Kumbhakarna
यदाभृशंतैर्निनदैर्महात्मानकुम्बकर्णोबुबुधेप्रसुप्तः ।ततोमुसुण्ठीर्मुसलानिसर्वेरक्षोगणास्तेजगृहुर्गदाश्च ।।।।
yadā bhṛśaṃ tair ninadair mahātmā na kumbhakarṇo bubudhe prasuptaḥ | tato musuṇṭhīr musalāni sarve rakṣo-gaṇās te jagṛhur gadāś ca ||
Mais, malgré ces clameurs farouches, le grand Kumbhakarṇa ne s’éveilla point de son sommeil. Alors toutes ces troupes de rākṣasas saisirent des maillets, des gourdins et des masses.
Kumbhakarna sleeping like that, could not be awakened. Angry Rakshasas roared and hit him with mallets and maces.
