The Slaying of Dhumrākṣa
तेगदाभिश्चभीमाभिःपट्टसै: कूटमुद्गरैः ।घोरैश्चपरिघैश्चित्रैस्त्रिशूलैश्चापिसंश्रितैः ।।6.52.5।।विदार्यमाणारक्षोभिर्वानरास्तेमहाबलाः ।अमर्षाज्जनितोद्धर्षाश्चक्रुःकर्माण्यभीतवत् ।।6.52.6।।
sa visphārita-sarvāṅgo giri-śṛṅgeṇa tāḍitaḥ |
papāta sahasā bhūmau vikīrṇa iva parvataḥ ||6.52.36||
Écrasé par le sommet de la montagne, ses membres écartelés et brisés, il tomba soudainement au sol, telle une montagne s'effondrant en fragments.
The Vanaras although strong were wielding maces, spikes, tridents, terrific iron bars and multitude of weapons of many kinds to crush the Rakshasas. They were endowed with prowess, knowledgeable of weapons and doing their duty without fear and with great enthusiasm.
Adharma culminates in downfall: violent aggression meets decisive consequence when opposed by dharmic protectors.
Dhūmrākṣa is struck by the falling mountain-peak and collapses to the earth, broken and defeated.
The effectiveness of righteous force—strength directed toward ending harm, not toward cruelty for its own sake.
