Voyant le rocher fondre sur lui, il brandit sa massue avec effroi ; d’un bond rapide il sauta du char et se tint ferme sur le sol.
Beholding the rock descending upon him, Dhumraksha rushed instantly on the ground from the chariot and stood.
Readiness and accountability in conflict: a warrior must face consequences and respond with presence of mind rather than endangering others through panic.
Dhūmrākṣa avoids the incoming rock by jumping down from his chariot, gripping his mace, and standing on the battlefield.
Sāvadhānatā (alertness) and tactical composure under threat.
