Public Witness and Protocol
Then Vibheeshana, the prosperous Lord of the Rakshasas seeing Sita greeted her with palms joined together lifted it over his head (as a sign of respect).
Dharma as respect for virtue: Sītā is honored as morally exalted, and rightful authority is expressed through humility, not domination.
Vibhīṣaṇa meets Sītā in the palace quarters and respectfully addresses her before escort arrangements.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s vinaya (humility) and reverence toward chastity and righteousness.
