Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain
एवमार्ताःपतिंदृष्टवारावणंनिहतंभुवि ।चुक्रुशुर्भहुधाशोकाद्भूयस्ताःपर्यदेवयन् ।।।।
evam ārtāḥ patiṃ dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇaṃ nihataṃ bhuvi | cukruśur bahudhā śokād bhūyas tāḥ paryadevayan ||
Ainsi, accablées, voyant leur époux Rāvaṇa gisant à terre, elles poussèrent des cris de mille façons et, sans cesse, se lamentèrent dans une douleur accablante.
Afflicted on beholding their husband Ravana, killed, and lying on the ground, the Rakshasa women again and again cried exceedingly in many ways overcome with grief.
