Ravana’s Chariot, Portents, and Rama–Matali Instructions
गृध्रैरनुगताश्चास्यवमन्त्योज्वलनंमुखैः ।।।।प्रणेदुर्मुखमीक्षन्त्यःसम्रद्धमशिवंशिवाः ।
gṛdhrair anugatāś cāsya vamantyo jvalanaṃ mukhaiḥ |
praṇedur mukham īkṣantyaḥ samṛddham aśivaṃ śivāḥ ||
Suivies de vautours, les chacales femelles, lui faisant face, vomirent par la gueule un feu éclatant ; et, le fixant du regard, elles poussèrent des cris — présage lourd d’inauspice.
The vultures followed by she-jackals vomited, burning fire from their mouths indicating inauspiciousness and screamed.
