शिवधनुर्दर्शनं—रामेण धनुर्भङ्गश्च
The Showing of Śiva’s Bow and Rama’s Breaking of It
राजानं प्रश्रितैर्वाक्यैरानयन्तु पुरं मम।प्रदानं वीर्यशुल्काया: कथयन्तु च सर्वश:।।।।
rājānaṃ praśritair vākyair ānayantu puraṃ mama | pradānaṃ vīryaśulkāyāḥ kathayantu ca sarvaśaḥ ||
Qu’ils amènent le roi dans ma cité par des paroles respectueuses, et qu’ils exposent en tout la donation de Sītā à Rāma, elle qui est le «prix nuptial de la vaillance».
That Sita, the reward of prowess is to be given to Rama be reventially communicated in detail to king Dasaratha and he may be conveyed here.
Dharma in marriage arrangements: the bride’s hand is offered according to a publicly declared condition, communicated truthfully and respectfully to all concerned parties.
Janaka orders his ministers to invite Daśaratha and to report in detail that Sītā is to be given to Rāma as the rightful outcome of the contest.
Janaka’s commitment to satya (truthfulness) and transparency—he ensures the decision is conveyed fully and ceremonially, not privately or ambiguously.
