Diti’s Severed Embryo and the स्थापना of the Maruts; Viśālā-nagara Lineage
tasyāntaraṃ so'dhigamya śakraḥ parapuraṃjayaḥ | praviveśa diteḥ kukṣiṃ yogamaiśvaramāsthitaḥ ||
Here, 'Antaram' signifies a loophole, lapse, or interval in the strict observance of vows (Niyama). Diti's failure to maintain the correct posture while sleeping created an impurity that Indra exploited.
The epithet 'Parapuranjaya' (Conqueror of enemy cities) highlights Indra's strategic ruthlessness and ability to overcome threats to his dominion, even if it requires exploiting a subtle lapse in an opponent's spiritual defense.
