Entry toward Viśālā and the Indra–Kṣīrodamathana Legend

Tu es le refuge de tous les êtres, et tout particulièrement des habitants du ciel. Protège-nous, ô toi aux bras puissants ; toi seul es digne de soulever la montagne.
'O Sinless one! after the mountain (Mandara) used as churning rod sank down to nether world (patala) the devatas along with the gandharvas invoked Visnu'.
Dharma teaches śaraṇāgati with clarity: acknowledging the true refuge and asking for protection in a righteous cause.
With the churning mountain sunk, the gods pray to Viṣṇu to protect them and raise the mountain so the work may continue.
Faith joined with right discernment: the gods recognize Viṣṇu’s role as universal support and appeal accordingly.
