Entry toward Viśālā and the Indra–Kṣīrodamathana Legend
The devatas sought refuge in the great god Rudra who causes happiness, the Lord of all living beings. 'Save us, Save us', the cried.
Śaraṇāgati is dharmic: when overwhelmed by harm, one should seek refuge in the rightful protector rather than act in panic or pride.
The gods, endangered by Hālāhala, approach Rudra/Śiva and plead for rescue.
Humility and discernment: recognizing who can truly protect and approaching with sincere supplication.
