सिद्धाश्रम-प्रसङ्गः
Siddhashrama and the Vāmana Narrative
तच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं तस्य मारीच: कश्यपोऽब्रवीत्।अदित्या देवतानां च मम चैवानुयाचत:।।1.29.15।।वरं वरद सुप्रीतो दातुमर्हसि सुव्रत।
tac chrutvā vacanaṃ tasya mārīcaḥ kaśyapo ’bravīt | adityā devatānāṃ ca mama caivānuyācataḥ || 1.29.15 || varaṃ varada suprīto dātum arhasi suvrata |
Entendant ses paroles, Kāśyapa, issu de Marīci, répondit : «Ô dispensateur de grâces, ô toi qui es ferme dans ton vœu, sois favorable et accorde une grâce, demandée pour Aditi, pour les dieux, et aussi pour moi».
"O Sinless Lord, Be born son to Aditi and to me, O Destroyer of asuras, be the younger brother to Indra. You can help these sorrow-stricken devatas.
Dharma includes selfless advocacy: Kāśyapa uses earned spiritual merit not merely for himself but for the welfare of others (Aditi and the gods).
Invited to choose a boon, Kāśyapa petitions Viṣṇu on behalf of Aditi and the distressed gods.
Altruism and responsibility: directing personal spiritual attainment toward collective well-being.
