अस्त्रप्रदानम्
Bestowal of Divine Astras to Rama
देवासुरगणान्वापि सगन्धर्वोरगानपि।यैरमित्रान् प्रसह्याजौ वशीकृत्य जयिष्यसि।।।।तानि दिव्यानि भद्रं ते ददाम्यस्त्राणि सर्वशः ।
devāsuragaṇān vāpi sagandharvoragān api | yair amitrān prasahyājau vaśīkṛtya jayiṣyasi || tāni divyāni bhadraṃ te dadāmy astrāṇi sarvaśaḥ ||
Par elles, tu triompheras de tes ennemis au combat, les soumettant de force, fût-ce des cohortes de devas ou d’asuras, ainsi que des Gandharvas et des Nāgas. Ces armes célestes—que le bien t’accompagne—je te les confère pleinement.
"In the past there was a powerful and great yaksha by name Suketu. He had no children. So he performed an intense penance following virtuous practices.
Power is granted to serve dharma: divine weapons are legitimate when used to restrain harm-doers and protect the righteous, not for pride or aggression.
Viśvāmitra promises and bestows celestial astras upon Rāma so he can defeat formidable beings and fulfill the protective mission.
Rāma’s preparedness for righteous action (dharma-yuddha readiness) under proper guidance, and Viśvāmitra’s responsible transmission of power.
