Commencement and Performance of Daśaratha’s Aśvamedha
दिवसे दिवसे तत्र संस्तरे कुशला द्विजा:।सर्वकर्माणि चक्रुस्ते यथाशास्त्रं प्रचोदिता:।।।।
divase divase tatra saṁstare kuśalā dvijāḥ |
sarvakarmāṇi cakrus te yathāśāstraṁ pracoditāḥ ||
Jour après jour, là, au cours de la session sacrificielle, des brahmanes experts—encouragés par leurs guides—accomplirent tous les rites conformément aux śāstras.
Here (in this sacrificial pavillion), there was none who was not versed in six Vedangas,not true to vows, not learned in many sastras nor adept in discussions (on sastras).
