Ainsi interpellé, Bharata répondit à Bharadvāja ; les yeux noyés de larmes sous le chagrin, la voix hésitante et brisée en parlant.
When one so venerable like you too misunderstands me, I am gone. There is no danger for him from me. Do not rebuke me this way.
Dharma is tied to sincerity: Bharata’s grief-stricken response signals an inner commitment to truth and righteousness rather than opportunism.
After Bharadvāja’s probing suspicion, Bharata begins his reply, emotionally shaken.
Ārjava (straightforward sincerity) and śoka-sahāyatā (capacity to bear grief while remaining truthful).
