Lamentation in Ayodhya after Daśaratha’s death

तां ततस्सम्परिष्वज्य विलपन्तीं तपस्विनीम्।व्यपनीय सुदुःखार्तां कौसल्यां व्यावहारिकाः।।।।

tāṃ tataḥ sampariṣvajya vilapantīṃ tapasvinīm |

vyapanīya suduḥkhārtāṃ kausalyāṃ vyāvahārikāḥ ||

Alors, l’ayant enlacée tandis qu’elle gémissait—Kausalyā, l’ascète, reine accablée—les femmes de service, transpercées d’une profonde douleur, l’emmenèrent doucement à l’écart.
