Arrival at Bharadvāja’s Hermitage and Counsel toward Citrakūṭa
nyavedayata cātmānaṁ tasmai lakṣmaṇapūrvajaḥ |
putrau daśarathasyāvāṁ bhagavan rāmalakṣmaṇau ||
This blessed one is my consort, Sita, daughter of Janaka. Irreproachable she has followed me to the desolate grove of penance (hermitage).
Satya and clarity in conduct: Rama speaks plainly about who he is, showing truthful self-presentation and respectful address to a spiritual elder.
After paying homage, Rama formally identifies himself and Lakshmana to the sage they have met.
Truthfulness and humility—Rama’s direct, reverent introduction rather than asserting royal privilege.
