Vāsudeva is a primary name of Viṣṇu (also used for Kṛṣṇa), praised here as the pure, beautiful refuge whose attainment sustains all beings, including the gods.
It culminates in śaraṇāgati—“śaraṇaṃ prapadye” (I take refuge)—presenting surrender to Vāsudeva as the essential devotional act and source of life and flourishing.
True nourishment and well-being—material and spiritual—are found by seeking the divine refuge; the verse frames God as the sustainer of all worlds and encourages reliance on purity, devotion, and surrender.
