The Sumanā Episode: Suvrata’s Childhood Devotion and All-Activity Remembrance of Hari
Vyāsa is speaking, and he requests to hear the carita (life-story/deeds) of Suvrata.
They portray the addressed deity as both the inner essence of the cosmos (lokātmā) and the one who orders and structures the world (lokavinyāsa).
By asking for Suvrata’s carita, the verse signals a dharma-oriented narrative where exemplary conduct is taught through biography and sacred storytelling.
